As a Corporate Department Head, Mira provides critical support to the daily site and regional property operation. At Alpha Barnes, our clients meet their financial goals when we support the needs of our customers at the point of service. Administrative productivity and efficiency are essential. Mira manages all payroll and personnel records and reporting for Alpha Barnes’ almost 700 employees. In doing so, Mira focuses on accuracy, timeliness and greater efficiencies for the company’s personnel and its managed assets. Her department also supports the resource needs of the employees including policy and benefit application and employment issues.
Mira received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas. Ms. MacKenna began her work in 1980 as an executive assistant at Folsom Investments. After 3 years, she joined the original group that ultimately formed Barnes Investments and took on the payroll and personnel responsibilities for the growing organization. With the formation of Alpha Barnes Real Estate in 2000, she was promoted to Human Resources Director in charge of employee payroll and benefits, including handling of all worker’s compensation claims. Mira is responsible for reviewing and recommending employee benefit packages and group plan coverages. As they change each year. In the last few years, Mira has streamlined payroll management with the addition of electronic time reporting and employee access to and self-management of their personal information including preferred pay methods.
